Train troubles continue

by awitherick on 1 April, 2010

Never a dull day with the trains.  Lib Dems and others have been raising issues about the trains and we’ve seen increases in the compensation for commuters- an admission in many ways of the depth of the problem.

The RMT and TSSA uions are proposing to take industrial action from Tuesday 6 April to Friday 9 April.
The National Rail Enquiries website provides a useful summary of how this is likely to affect rail travel across the UK and is updated regularly.

More specific details for Hertfordshire, including special timetables to be operated during the period of the industrial action, can be found on the websites of the three principal rail operators providing services in the county:

In other news the Train Operating Companies are to appear before the county council’s scrutiny committee on 20 May. This follows pressure from the Liberal Democrat group for the County Council to take a bigger interest in the problems caused on the various railways which ‘serve’ Hertfordshire.
