Fun for all the family at adiZone Fun Day

by awitherick on 7 April, 2011

Come along to the adiZone Fun Day being held in Verulamium Park on Saturday 9th April and try your hand at circus skills, tai chi and Zumba dancing.

Organised by St Albans City and District Council, the adiZone Fun Day offers residents the opportunity to have a go at a variety of sports and other fun activities catering for all age groups.

The giant adiZone outdoor gym will play host to a range of local clubs and groups from across the District enabling them to showcase their activities and to invite the public to take part in them.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Anthony Rowlands, Portfolio Holder for Sport and Leisure at St Albans City and District Council, said: ”With the evenings getting lighter and the weather getting warmer, it’s the perfect time to make use of the adiZone which was launched in Verulamium Park last December. This Fun Day will provide residents with an opportunity to try out the adiZone and get a taste of the kinds of sport and play activities they can get involved in within the District at the same time.”

The following activities will be available for people to participate in on the day:

  • pilates,
  • tai chi,
  • Nordic walking,
  • Zumba dancing,
  • football,
  • circus skills,
  • balloon modelling fun,
  • arts and craft activities,
  • mobile skate park,
  • Play in the Parks, and
  • adiZone outdoor gym.

There will also be a number of performances from:

  • Sandringham School Street Dance Group,
  • Sandringham School Hip Hop Group Tuxedo, and
  • Marshalswick Judo Club.

A full programme of the day’s events is available on the Council’s website at: www.stalbans.gov.uk/adiZone
