Not in the ward- but we know many will be affected by it!

Since Monday 18 April the Southbound carriageway of the A1(M) through the Hatfield Tunnel has been reopened from two to three lanes, running with the hard shoulder closed. The Northbound carriageway will remain at two lane running through the tunnel until completion of the project. To ensure the safety of the workforce during the final stages of the project the current 40mph speed limit will remain in place.

The overall refurbishment scheme is planned to be complete with three lanes running at 70mph, in both Directions on or before 22 May 2011.

To enable ongoing integration testing and commissioning works as part final stages of the scheme, the Northbound and Southbound carriageways of the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel will be closed overnight between Thursday 21 April and Friday 13 May 2011.

The timings of the closures are as follows:

• Monday to Thursday – 10:00pm to 5:30am
• Friday – 11:00pm to 06:00am
• Saturday – 10:00pm to 06:00am
• Sunday – 10:30pm to 05:30am

Clearly signed diversions will be in place.
