Whilst we’ve all enjoyed a barmy Easter and are preparing for the Summer, your local Liberal Democrat Councillors are still fighting to make sure that we are better prepared for the Winter. This is the time when we are working hard to get new salt bins placed where they’re needed and plan for word gritting.
The following statement has been issued by Herts Highways after Cllr Allan Witherick raised issues about how much salt was available on the crucial route of Waverley Road, near to the Hospital, as well as other areas of concern:
“Following the many and varied requests for additional salt bins Herts Highways will be undertaking a full review of the process for new salt bin provision to assess how we can best manage the effective deployment of salt/grit bins in future years. These findings will also be reported to the County’s Highways and Transport panel in June 2011”
