Centurions Rugby League Football Club players are sporting new kit, thanks to a locality budget grant from Liberal Democrat County Councillor Allan Witherick.
The new kit benefits all those who get to represent the club at Open Age level, as kits are held centrally and not given to individual players irrespective of their status within the team/squad/club.
Cllr Allan Witherick: “The Centurions recently adopted the New Greens Residents Association on High Oaks as their base and have already made a positive contribution to helping keep this valuable community asset in use. The club plays an excellent role in encouraging participation in sport and volunteering and in promoting healthier living. Its teaching of tag rugby and rugby league at Townsend School has had a very positive effect as well.
I’m pleased to have been able to support them in this small way so that they can remain accessible to all.”
