Know a local community group which could benefit from a grant?

There are many local groups which help people in Marshalswick South by providing everything from activities for young people through to support for the vulnerable and elderly.  We’ve got sports clubs and community groups and branches of national charities which work with residents.

Some of these are well established, others work on a shoe string- and in some cases both!

Your Marshalswick South Liberal Democrat County Councillor Allan Siao Ming Witherick has a Locality Budget of £10,000 that he can use to support local groups in the area (in our case St Albans North which includes both Batchwood and Marshalswick South Wards).

Cllr Allan Siao Ming Witherick said: “I know of many local groups, but I’m sure that there must be others that help out locally and could benefit.  So don’t hesitate, put them in contact with me as I’d rather they found out twice rather than not at all!”

Past grants have helped with a variety of different projects and proposals which have enhanced helped to enhance the local area, from providing uniforms for the local Rugby Team which are based at New Greens Residents Association through to supporting educational projects for both the elderly and the young.

So if you’ve got an idea you can give Allan a call on 01727 730838, drop him an email at [email protected] or fill in the form using the link http://www.hertsdirect.org/localitybudget.

Of course there are other grants available!

One of the things you can ask for the grant for is to match fund against other granting organisations, and £10,000 only goes so far!
