We’ve been reporting some of the problems to Herts Highways where gritting was either done too little, or too late.
In particular last night we reached the point where Sandpit Lane for example was almost impassable with cars having to be pushed up the slope towards St Saviour’s Church, despite being one of the main routes…
On the other hand the District Council managed to keep the markets running in this crucial period and it was a really marked difference walking through town compared to the Snow in February as people made the best of the extra shopping days.
We’ll keep an eye on the weather, it seems to be turning too quickly to say we’re clear quite yet.
