Which Road today?

by awitherick on 18 November, 2010

Fighting to ensure that essential services are provided and local views are taken in to account are the bread and butter work of your local Liberal Democrat Councillors. The state of our roads is one of the issues which impacts every resident almost every day and something we put top of our six to fix campaign during the County Council elections. We can all name a road without hesitating that could do with resurfacing.
As a result we are always keen to encourage people to make sure that they report incidents etc to www.fixmystreet.com It’s an independent website which allows you to see whether someone else has already reported the problem. All of the items are then used to help us provide evidence that this is, and remains, an important issue that residents care about.

But of course, whilst we are always glad when we have successes we also know that it can lead to short term delays which can often feel as equally frustrating.
The County Council has now set up a website to list the major works in the County and you can find this at www.hertsdirect.org/roadworks
This is in addition to the letters to directly affected residents and the notices in the local papers and road signs.
