Salt levels…

by awitherick on 24 December, 2010

The salt stock level in Hertfordshire on the 19 December was was 4,200 tonnes, less than a week later on the 23 December it had fallen to barely 2,700 tonnes.

Cllr Allan Siao Ming Witherick said
“Based on the current usage rates that’s less than 2 weeks worth of salt.  It’s no surprise that the panicked Tory County Council have had to request a further 3,000 tonnes from the government stockpile, a request which has so far been turned down.
The Tories admit that over 600 bin requests were made last year, of which 300 met criteria, yet they installed just 56 across the entire county.
These numbers for salt stock and bins speak volumes about how the Tories on Herts county Council look after residents.”

Marshalswick South Liberal Democrats will continue to fight to for local residents.
