Would this have happened under Labour or the Tories?

Just a  few thoughts for people of things the Liberal Democrats have achieved in Government which might never have happened under the Toreis alone and which Labour failed to do in government…

Income Tax:

Lifting nearly 900,000 of the lowest paid workers out of Income Tax altogether and giving a £200 tax cut to 23m people on low and middle incomes. This is straight from the front page of our manifesto to the pockets of millions of taxpayers.

Pensions:

Restoring the earnings link to pensions. A pensioner retiring today on a basic state pension will get £15,000 more over their retirement than they would have under Labour.

Pupil Premium:

We are investing £650m, rising to £2.5bn, aimed at the most disadvantaged children in schools.

Apprenticeships:

We are creating more apprenticeships than Britain has ever had before – an extra 250,000 over this Parliament.
That’s why the Liberal Democrats are distinct.
