Last month of consultation on future provision of bus services

If you want to have your say on the future provision of bus services in Hertfordshire, make sure you respond to Hertfordshire County Council’s draft bus strategy consultation by June 6.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Allan Siao Ming Witherick, said: “Public transport provides a vital lifeline from all sorts of people, from students right through to the retired.  It’s not just cheap, but it’s environmentally friendly and a lot easier than driving.

But it can only work if there is enough people using it and it goes to the right places.

The strategy determines how the Tory run County Council will work with commercial bus operators and how they intend to prioritise the limited amount of money that they’ve made available for what should be an essential service.”

The draft bus strategy has been written to comply with national regulations.

The consultation is available to respond to online at www.hertsdirect.org/ltp or you can call us on 0300 123 4050 to request a paper copy.

The consultation started on March 28 and residents have until June 6 to respond.

A separate consultation on school bus provision will be run in the summer term.
