Fancy an Olympic Challenge?

A volunteering scheme inspired by London 2012 has been launched in Hertfordshire to try and get more people active and engaged.

Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Volunteering is a joint venture between Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners (HRFW) and the Volunteer Centres Hertfordshire.

Recently a group of dedicated voluntary coordinators were recruited to bridge the gap between local events and volunteers inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Coordinators are now in place at volunteer centres across Hertfordshire, poised to help make next year a year of celebration in the county.

Liberal Democrat Cllr Allan Witherick said: “This is a nice idea, with many local community groups who could benefit from a little extra help.  The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are an opportunity for you to make a difference in our local area.”
